The Monégasque franc was one of the official currencies of the Principality of Monaco until 2002, when it changed to the Euro. The Monégasque franc traded alongside the French franc (with the same value) while in circulation. Only coins were issued, and all denominations of coins (1 centime to 20 franc) were issued. Today, Monégasque francs are highly valued collectors pieces, including the fleurs de coins. The official Euro-to-franc exchange rate is MNF 6.55957 to €1. The euro (plural euro--but note linguistic issues concerning the euro, symbol: €; banking code: EUR) is the official currency of the European Union and single currency for over 300 million Europeans in the following twelve European Union member states: Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands...
