Storyline

Monkey Typhoon tells the story of three asobots, a form of robots whose general title is a portmanteau of the words association and robot, headed by Goku, voiced by InuYasha seiyū Kappei Yamaguchi, who are assisted in their journeys by the human, Sanzō, voiced by Tomokazu Seki, the son of the creators of the asobots along with Susie, Tongō and Jō. Later on they are joined by Mīyōn and her sister Shīyōn (who is actually a member of Professor D's quartet but later on is saved by Goku). Their quest is to stop their world's destruction by collecting the legendary 49 keys to unlock the twin headed dragon door. Along the way the asobots gain the ability to evolve further such as one of Jō's daggers soon allow him to wield the Feather Blade, Tongō's Chain Hammer evolves into the Megaton Hammer, Gōku's Joystick also evolves but has no new name, instead it gains 4 evolution keys allowing Goku power over different elements and new abilities such as the improved "Easter Wind" and "Fire Vortex Revolution". Together, in their many voyages, they come across several foes and enemies such as Loki, Professor D, the Quartet, Dobberman King, and many more, as well as grow united in their friendship. Kappei Yamaguchi The main character. He is an asobot. His mission is to find the keys (actually he wants to

find the treasure where the key is located). He is accompanied with Susie, Sanzo, Tongo, Jo and later with Miyon and Shiyon. Goku looks mostly human, but he has a face that looks like a monkey one, and he gets angry when they call him monkey. He has a robot horse called skywalker and a magic weapon. This one is metal. After he collected 6 keys, his appearance changes and has a new abilities such as the improved "Easter Wind" and "Fire Vortex Revolution". Sanzo put a curse that will make him weak to all women and children. He likes to chase pretty girls every time he arrives in town, which leads him to get punch out of the air. At the last part of the series, he fought Professor D. along with Yazo, Jo, Tongo, Sanzou, Shiyon, Miyon, and Susie, which leads Professor D. to get defeated. In the end, Sanzo take off the course from Goku. He came back to the past along with Sanzou and friends to retrieve one of Professor D.'s feather after it flew into a warm hole (a hole that transport anyone who enters it to past). Sanzo Tomokazu Seki The one who forced Goku on the quest, he said he can only remove the curse when they finally arrive to the last city. He finally wake up after 1000 years of cold sleep, to stop the world's destruction by collecting the 49 keys. He has a magical harmonica that affects Asobots, but not the ones who where infected by the virus. He sometimes uses it to heal Asobots or power up Goku's attacks. Like Goku, he collected 6 keys, which later on, change the appearance of his harmonica and can heal asobots even with destruction virus. His real name is Genjho Sanzo and his hometown is Tokyo. He serves as a big brother to Susie. He is the former lover of Rhea, the mother of all asobots. At the last part of the series, he fought off Professor D. along with Goku, Yazo and friends. Sanzo came back to the past to retrieve one of Professor D,'s feather, along with Goku and friends. After the all the keys has been collected, all asobots that has been affected by the destruction virus has been cured. His last words (the last words in the series) are " The real treasure are not other than the treasure of the journey."

Suuji
Mayumi Iizuka A girl who is role of the female that punish the hero and may end having a romantic relationship with him. She lost her dad in an attack of some infected Asobots did to her city. When she was young, her father was telling her the story about the prophecies, which leads her to join Goku to see the event her father tells her. Although she doesn't have any abilities, she has a flying vehicle. Later she find a bow (which is actually a key), which can produce sound (which affects the asobots), that only she can use. At the last part of the series, Susie is the last person who finish Professor D. by using the bow of sun to rest Professor D.'s soul in peace; And it is because she is the only one who understands what Professor D. feels. Susie came back to past to choose a journey for herself.
Susie
Jo Nozomu Sasaki A worker asobot, but we never see his mouth cause he has it covered ninja style. He needs lots of water to survive or he could die. Goku itself said he is invincible when battling underwater. His weapon is called Feather Sword but later, like Goku, he collected 6 keys which change his appearance and his weapon become Feather Blade. At the last part of the series, he fought off Professor D. along with Goku, Yazo and friends. He came back to past along with Goku and friends, since the bandit should never abandon each other.

Tongo Takeharu Kunimoto A nurse asobot who looks like a fat cat that likes to eat. He is a good fighter. His weapon is called Chain Hammer but later, like Goku and Jo, he collected 6 keys which change his appearance and weapon become Megaton Hammer. At the last part of the series, he fought off Professor D. along with Goku, Yazo and friends. He came back to past along with Goku and friends, since the bandit should never abandon each other.

Miyon /
Mioto
Minami Takayama An asobot who almost look like a human. She is one of Professor D's quartet but later joined Goku. She become friends with Susie when both of them were kidnap. Sanzo stated that Miyon has similarities with Rhea. She has a little sister named Shiyon. She has a pet that can transform into a flying skateboard. MMost of her attacks are candy based (bubblegum bomb, choco men, etc) later, she'll have a magical umbrella that can fly, be use as a shield, or used to hypnotise (she did this to escape Goku once but never used it again). At the last part of the series, she and Shiyon are the one who found Professor D.'s weakness. She and Shiyon came to past to find treasures.
Miyon
Shiyon Atsuko Enomoto Miyon's little sister. Like Miyon, she is an asobot and one of Professor D's quartet. During her time as part of the quartet she used a Sitar played like a cello. She joined Goku so she can spy them in their journey. After she died due to a destruction virus, Sanzou revived her after his harmonica changes due to the 6 keys. She can transform or change into a pretty lady who looks like Miyon, only with blue with hair. She has a pet parrot that can transform into a walkie-talkie. At the last part of the series, she and Miyon are the one who found Professor D.'s weaknest. She and Miyon came to past to find treasures.

Yazu Shinichiro Miki He is a 3rd generation asobot. He is one of Professor D.'s quartet but later he somehow disobeyed Professor D's orders because of Professor's D's plans. He is dead but later gets revived in episode 33. He had a flexible sword (the one like the sword of the grim reaper), which he use as a weapon. At the last part of the series, he sacrifice his self by fighting to Professor D after disagreeing what Professor D. plans, which leads him to his death.
Yazu in the 3nd ending
Rhea ----- The mother of all asobots and former lover of Sanzo. According to Sanzo, she has similarities with Miyon but Sanzo stated that he can see Rhea more on Goku than on Miyon.

Professor D. Nachi Nozawa The main villain. He is the rival of Sanzo's father. Like Sanzo, he wants to find the keys for his sinester plans. At the last part of the series, he fought with Goku, Yazo, Sanzou, Jo, Tongo, Shiyon, Miyon And Susie, after many transformation, he get defeated. But then, one of Professor D.'s wings' feather flew off into a worm hole, which leads Sanzo to back to the past and retrieve it, along with Goku and friends.
Casper Jūrōta Kosugi One of Professor D.'s quartet. He had a violin that can create illusion to anyone who hears it. He fought off Goku and friends but then get defeated. But then died after Professor D. ended his life.
Marty ----- One of Professor D.'s quartet. Like Casper, he had a trumpet that can create illusion to anyone who hears it. He fought off Goku and friends but then get defeated. But then died after Professor D. ended his life.
Marie Chiemi Chiba One of Professor D.'s quartet. Like Casper and Marty, she had a set of drums that can create illusion to anyone who hears it. She fought off Goku and friends but then get defeated. But then died after Professor D. ended her life.
