Montalegre is one of the two municipalites of José Manuel Durão Barroso (born in Lisbon, March 23, 1956) is a Portuguese politician. He served as Prime Minister of his country from 6 April 2002 until 29 June 2004, when he resigned to become President_designate of the European Commission. The appointment was formally endorsed by the European Parliament... Barroso. 26.26% of the land is part of the national park which is called Parque Nacional da Peneda-Gerês. The size is 211.74 km² or 21,174 ha. 594,45 km²/59,495 ha are not part of this parkland.
