Montedoro is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Caltanissetta in the Italian region Sicily, located about 80 km southeast of Palermo and about 20 km west of Caltanissetta. Montedoro is a small town (paese) in the center of Sicily in the region of Caltanisetta.
Overlooking Montedoro on the Calvario Road there are the remains of one of these sulfur mines, and a new museum telling the story of mining in Montedoro.
