Montreal Expo Express - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (448 words)
The Montréal Expo Express (in French, l'express Expo) was a mini-métro system consisting of four stations and a 5.7-kilometre route.
Although it is often erroneously referred to as a monorail, the Expo Express in fact used standard railway technology, with two main rails and a third electrified rail exactly like those of the Toronto subway.
After several abortive schemes to re-use the cars, they were moved from the Port of Montréal to a storage facility in Les Cèdres (Québec) in the late 1980s, and were finally cut-up for scrap in the mid 1990s.
