Moorestown is not to be confused with Morristown, a town in the northern part of New Jersey.
Moorestown was also the home of Eldridge Johnson, the founder of Victor Talking Machine Company (now known as RCA), and Samuel Allen, the inventor of the Flexible Flyer, which was developed on Stokes Hill in Moorestown, a popular sledding hill located on Main Street.
Moorestown was site of an infamous high-school scandal that gained national attention in the summer of 2003.
