Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997) was directed by John R. Leonetti. It is the sequel to Mortal Kombat. It was loosely based on popular Mortal Kombat video game series.This movie is looked down upon by the fans and it is relatively inferior to the original because it tried to cram in Mortal Kombat 2 and 3 together in a short-time without giving much backgrounds or character interactions and the acting and special effects were not that good. In addition, many of the same characters from the first film were played by different actors.
