Moses Schönfinkel was a Russian logician. He invented combinatory logic independently of, and a little earlier than, Haskell Curry. Schönfinkel published his logic in a paper called Über die Bausteine der mathematischen Logik (On the building blocks of mathematical logic) in 1924. The article also introduced what is now called currying after Haskell Curry, the terminology Schönfinkeling having found few adherents.
