Motorpsycho is a band from Trondheim, Norway. Their music can generally be defined as psychedelic rock, but they also mix in elements from metal, jazz, rock, pop and many other musical styles. The members of the band are Bent Sæther (bass/vocals) and Hans Magnus "Snah" Ryan (guitar/vocals) Until March 2005, Håkon Gebhardt (drums) was also an integral part of the band. Formed in the late eighties as an alternative metal band, Motorpsycho soon developed a unique blend of grunge, heavy metal and indierock, as well as incorporating the sonic noise experiments of associated member Deathprod. Motorpsycho was founded in October 1989 in Trondheim, a small industrial city on the mid-western coast of Norway.
Their first album Lobotomizer was in 1991, after which Killer quit and Hkon Gebhardt took over on drums, forming the nucleus of Motorpsycho for many years to come.
Due to its monster-length it was released as a double-CD and a three-LP box-set with a full-color poster and a vinyl etching on the sixth side.
