Mount Lushan is a mountain in the People's Republic of China (also known as Mount Lu), situated south of the city of Jiujiang in the Jiangxi Province, with Boyang Lake at its bank. Its highest point is the Dahanyang Peak (1.5 klilomoters above sea). The mountain is a prominent tourist attraction, especially domestically. Categories: China geography stubs | Cities in China ...   • Within its area is the famous resort town of Lushan.
  • On the northwest slope is where the Pure Land Buddhism was founded by Hui-yuan in 402, and it features the Ddonglin Temple.
  • The Lushan Botanical Gardens features ten of thousands of plant species.
  • Bellow the Peak of Five Old Men is the White Deer Cave Academy (named after Li Bo, who raised white deer there). It is amongst the oldest institutes of higher learning in ancient China.
  • West is the Flowerpath which provided inspiration to Bai Juyi, a famous poet who lived during the Tang Dynasty.
  • Between the Yangtze River and Boyang Lake, are the Greater and Lesser Tianchi Lakes, the Jingxiu Valley, and Lulin Lake. On the north bank of the latter, is the Lushan Museum which features pottery and bronzes, throughout various periods of ancient China, including calligraphic works from Tang Dynasty and paintings from Ming and Qing dynasties.
  • At the centre (between three peaks), and at a height of over one kilomoter, is Guling Town which links the various spots in the region through a mountain highway.
