Mount Sunflower, although not a true mountain, is the highest point in the state of Kansas. At 4,039 feet (1,231 m), it is 3,300 feet (1,010 m) feet above the state's topographic low point in Montgomery County in southeastern Kansas due to the gradual rise of the Rocky Mountains to the west. Located in Wallace County, it is less than one mile from the border with Colorado and close to Colorado's lowest point.
