Mountain Park is an unincorporated, census-designated place located in Gwinnett County, Georgia. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 11,753. The older name for the area is Trickum, which is reflected in Five Forks-Trickum Road which bisects the community. The older community was centered around Five Forks and Rockbridge Roads. I was somewhat illogically proud when Mountain Park was mentioned as a town in the path of a tornado last summer...we were on the map!
Across from the library is one of the many charming older houses in Mountain Park (the owner doesn't know that I painted a watercolor of this house and it hangs over my bed).
Homes in the Mountain Park area include everything from 1910 bungalows to 1960's brick ranches, to two story traditionals, ranging from the $160s to the $400's.
