Synopsis

With only four days until the bar exam, an utterly unprepared law intern, Rick Robinson (Ben Gourley), is given a rare opportunity to score points with his boss, Maxwell McAllister (Rutger Hauer) and without thinking, commits to a favor he can't afford. McAllister accepted a position as city manager in Rochester this week and subsequently tendered his notice of resignation via an e-mail sent to town officials Wednesday morning.

The McAllisters, are a Catholic family from the Lower Ormeau Road area of Belfast in the north of Ireland, who have been seeking political asylum in the United States.
McAllister immediately filed motions with an appeals court in Philadelphia, and won a temporary stay of his deportation, although not of his detention.
Bernadette McAllister and her children were initially granted political asylum by Immigration Court in New Jersey; the Federal Judge found that they had suffered "severe past persecution" because of their political beliefs and because they were Malachy McAllister's family.
