A multiplex (called virtual sub-channel in the United States and Canada) is a group of digital TV channels that are mixed together for broadcast. A set top box is required to unmix and select a channel for viewing. A multiplex can contain half a dozen TV channels yet only uses the space of one analog channel. A multiplex can also carry radio and interactive TV content. Digital television (DTV) uses digital modulation and compression to broadcast video, audio and data signals to television sets. ...
