The most awaited extradition of the Abu Salem from Portugal happened Nov 12 2005. He was flown in a chartered plane from Portugal to Mumbai and presented before the TADA court in Mumbai. Monica Bedi, an aspiring starlet was also extradited along with him. She was taken to a special CBI court in Hyderabad for a passport forgery case. Bold textmonica bedi is the wife of international terrorist Abu Salem. ...

Although the Indian government managed to extradite Abu Salem on the promise that he will not be handed the death penalty if found guilty, the issue is more complicated. The courts are in no way bound to the government's decision and one can only wait to see how the courts will react.

Abu Salem is not charged in masterminding the 1993 Mumbai blasts but on supplying explosives and ammunition. The media is reporting that he has turned an informer against the Don, although there are no direct cinfirmations from the CBI.
