Coahuila is bordered on the north by the US state of Texas; on the east by the Mexican state of Nuevo León; on the south by the Mexican states of Zacatecas, Durango, and San Luis Potosí; and on the west by the Mexican state of Chihuahua.
Coahuila had a total population of 2,298,070 in 2000; of the total, 1,140,195 were men and 1,157,875 were women.
Madero was born in Parras, Coahuila , on October 30, 1873, and was president from 1911 to 1913.
