Plot

When SpongeBob finds out that he's extremely weak, he asks Sandy to help him workout. However, he is too weak to work out, so he nearly gives up. That is, until he sees an ad on TV. It shows a shark saying that he was once a wimp but now has lots of muscles, and it's because of a product called 'Anchor Arms'. These are just inflatable plastic muscles, but it convinces everyone. SpongeBob is showing off his (fake) muscles when Sandy puts him in the Anchor Toss Competition. Even though SpongeBob has 'Anchor Arms', they don't make him stronger. In the anchor toss competition, each contestant must throw an anchor the farthest they can. SpongeBob cannot even lift up the anchor, and loses. The next scene shows SpongeBob changing channels in Sandy's treedome as an exercise.

Trivia/Goofs

Running Gag: Every time Spongebob does one of Sandy's exercises, his arms fall off.

  • Anchor Toss Scores:
    • Don the Whale: 200 yards
    • Larry the Lobster: 210 yards
    • Sandy Cheeks: 510 yards
    • SpongeBob SquarePants: Disqualified (O)
  • When SpongeBob hit the pole after Sandy finished entering SpongeBob into the anchor-tossing competition, he was wearing his pants. After that, he was back in his speedo.
  • When SpongeBob is first showing off his muscles to Larry, he says "Who were you expecting, Tiny Tim?". In the climatic scene from the first episode of SpongeBob Squarepants (Help Wanted) when Spongebob is in the kitchen making the plethora amounts of Krabby Patties, a Tiny Tim song is playing.
  • When the shark on the TV is doing the advertisement for "Anchor Arms", he shows a picture of himself before anchor arms. The picture he shows of himself shows him as being green but when he's talking on the ad, he's blue.
