INDO-NEGROID INDIA RAP/HIP-HOP Who are the Indo-Negroid People of India and what are their connections to Rap and Hip-Hop Music? This is a simple question with a simple answer. 1. Indo-Negroids or Sudroid people are part of the ancient Africoid diaspora. Rap and Hip-hop are African-American inventions with roots in the Ancient African 'praise poems' and 'talking drum/talking harp' poems used by musicians from Mali to Somalia. 2. Indo-Negroids (like the Tamil, Kanada, Dalit, Gond, Oaran, Munda and others) come from the very same cultural core that Africans in Africa, the Americas, Europe, Melanesia and the Indian Ocean came from. That cultural core is the Manding-Kushi prehistoric culture of the Sahara. This culture was the original place of the African mother (Manding-Kush) tongue that gave way to many South Indian, African, Melanesian and some Negroid American Indian languages like Kalifunami, Chibchan, Chuarra, Mandinga-Shi and others. It is also the core of the red and black pottery that is a significant identification marker of the prehistoric Manding-Kush Africans. 3. The musical styles of the Manding-Kush ( whose prehistoric civilization's core (Zingh Empire, 15,000 B.C.) was at Dafur, Sudan and the Sahara Crescent (see "Susu Economics," pub. by www.AuthorHouse.com also see http://community.webtv.net/nubianem ) WAS TAKEN TO ANCIENT INDIA BY THE AFRICOIDS WHO SETTLED INDIA FROM AFRICA. That musical tradition included: 1. Similar 'gourde' type musical instruments, (Sitar in India, Kora in Modern Africa/Ancient Egypt) 2. 'Call and Response' singing 3. Drumming that uses special codes and mathematics. 4. Long drums (held over the shoulders) 5. Poetry, singing and oral history and traditions. 6. The use of drums in the reciting of poetry, a Kushite African tradition that was also used by Black Kushites in the Middle East and India. This tradition is one of the branches of the ancient 'griot' tradition from which rapping originated. Hence, it is therefore accurate to point out that the Blacks of India (Sudroid, Indo-Negroid, Negro-Australoid, Negrito/Andaman Islanders, Negroid Tribals, see www.dalitstan.org/books/sudroid or www.dalitstan.org/sudroid/books ) who are about 400 million to 600 million people can contribute to a Black South Indian/South Asian hip-hop culture and scene and are also part of the global hip-hop community just as the light/brown skinned 'Mediterranean' featured Indians of England are.
