Muthia, the name derived from the way it is made, is from the 'gripping' action by hand. Usually, it looks like sausage, but is a vegan dish. It is made up of Besan/Gram Flour(Chick Pea Flour), Methi(Fenugreek), Salt, Turmeric, Chili powder,(optional bonding agent/sweetner like sugar) and oil. It is a very good staple of Gujaratis. Because of presence of Fenugreek, this dish is supposed to be good for keeping bowl movement regular. This dish can be eaten steamed or fried (after steaming), it is equally tasty either way. The following link gives information about preparation of this wonderful and very tasty dish.
