Controversies and Criticisms He is known as a supreme supporter of globalization. Mostly has got wide recognition in India as a corporate leader hence head management institutes like IIMs. However he has to face lot of criticisms like - Although he and his software industry gets most benefits like tax holiday( scheme in India called Software Technology Park Scheme for 10 years ending in fiscal 2009)[5] and land granted and cheaper prices from government and demands roads for commutation ,he doesn't support local talents but emphasize more on global competitiveness meaning a poor mal-literate Indian to compete with someone in US!
- Being very hospitable he has even reached an extent of telling that singing national anthem of India in front of foreign nationals is a bit shameful. Although he apologised for it later[6][7] he still faces a lawsuit.[8][9].
- Infosys, although was first to incorporate corporate laws had to hide Phaneesh Murthy's case although removing him from company paying him shares and pay whatever Reka Maxmovich had claimed under US court[10]. Today it has criticism of having technically most incompetent and sexually motivated managers in the company as seen by the sex ratio in company. This is an attribution of vision of NRN for Capitalism[11]. This trend has seen the more sexy looking and gregarious girls to earn more money on site under capitalist managers.
- Being an ardent fan of western culture he has conference halls named under names of English philosophers and has none dedicated to Indians. There is western dress code[12] implemented in the company with English as the sole language to be used. He is widely known to ignore local people under the name of globalization and hence has as many oppositions as he has supporters.
- He has publicly said that he prefers speaking in English than in Kannada many number of times showing hatred for his mother tongue although his wife Sudha Murthy is a well known Kannada literateur. Specially his company has a overwhelming ratio of non Kannadigas and unpublishedly known for having an all Tamil management inside which can be seen to help volunteering for Tsunami victims[13] although there was lots of damage happening in native state of Karnataka and reportedly no help was volunteered.
- He was a prime contendant for the post of President of India in 2007 but was criticized as being a pure corporate and not a leader.[14].
