The NASCAR Rookie of the Year award is presented to the first-year driver that has the best season. To be eligible, a driver must run no more than seven races in a previous season, and must compete in eight out of the first 20 races in his/her amateur season. Rookie of the year candidates earn points for their best 17 finishes of the season. Additional points are earned through entering a race, points based on finishing position, bonus points for top-10 finishes, bonus points earned from the first three segments of the season, and a vote by a panel at the end of the season. The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) is the largest sanctioning body of motorsports in the United States. ...
