Naked Music began life as a production company back in 1992, when founder Dave Boonshoft and Jay Denes scored immediate underground success with releases on indies such as OM, François Kevorian's Wave imprint, and UK's XL records. The Naked Sound was born at the intersection of dance, soul and electronic music.
Bif Naked was born Beth Torbert in New Delhi, India to two teenage parents.
The follow-up album, 'I, Bificus' was originally recorded for Naked's own label, Her Royal Majesty's, with producer Mike Plotnikoff in 1997, but after she signed with Sony 550 in the U.S. That version of the album was then scrapped and re-recorded with producer Glen Rosenstein (Ziggy Marley, October Project, Stella).
Naked has an upcoming guest appearance on the 'Buffy The Vampire Slayer' TV series singing the song "Lucky", which will also be on the series' soundtrack.
NakedMusic was first realized in 1999 and has steadily taken the dance music community by storm.
From their design aesthetic to their smooth signature deep house and downtempo grooves, Naked has carved out a unique niche in the electronic music world that has won a place in the hearts of DJ's and clubbers alike.
