He was born in Potočari, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Yugoslavia. Following conscription in the Yugoslav National Army, served as bodyguard to Slobodan Milošević in 1991-1992. He was indicted by the ICTY on March 28th 2003 on two counts of individual responsibility and four counts of command responsibility for violations of the laws or customs of war, and was arrested without further incident at his club by SFOR on April 10th 2003. He is accused of ordering the cruel treatment of eleven and killing of seven Serb men after being detained in the Srebrenica police station in 1992/1993. His troops are accused of pillaging at least fifty Serb-inhabited villages and hamlets in fifteen raids, causing the flight of its population.


The Federal Republic of Yugoslavia submitted a report to the United Nations on May 6, 1994, which elaborated, among other things, the Orić-led crimes in the Srebrenica area. Naser ORIC, son of Dzemal and Hata (née MUSTAFIC), was born on 3 March 1967 in Potocari, municipality of Srebrenica, Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina (hereafter: Bosnia and Herzegovina).
Naser ORIC, is individually responsible, pursuant to Article 7(1) of the Statute of the Tribunal, for the crimes of wanton destruction of cities, towns or villages not justified by military necessity and plunder of property as alleged in this indictment.
Naser ORIC demonstrated both de jure and de facto command and control in military matters in a manner consistent with the exercise of superior authority, by issuing orders, instructions and directives to the units, by ensuring the implementation of these orders, instructions and directives and bearing full responsibility for their implementation.
