The scientific name for this fascinating little Australian gecko is Nephrurus from the family Gekkonidae and subfamilia Diplodactylinae.
Within the nephrurus species is, as far as I know, nine different subspecies.
Probably the rarest among all the Nephrurus because of the limited nature of its distribution.
