It consists of the former villages of Neubau, Altlerchenfeld, St. Ulrich, Schottenfeld and Spittelberg. The district borders are formed by Lerchenfelder Strasse in the north, Mariahilfer Strasse in the south, Neubaugürtel in the west, and Museumstrasse and Museumsplatz in the east.
