New Fairview is a city located in Wise County, Texas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 877.

New Fairview is located at 33°6'52" North, 97°27'47" West (33.114472, -97.463117)1.


According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 39.1 km˛ (15.1 mi˛). 39.1 km˛ (15.1 mi˛) of it is land and 0.07% is water.


Demographics

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 877 people, 286 households, and 241 families residing in the city. The population density is 22.4/km˛ (58.1/mi˛). There are 317 housing units at an average density of 8.1/km˛ (21.0/mi˛). The racial makeup of the city is 91.22% White, 0.34% African American, 1.25% Native American, 0.11% Asian, 0.11% Pacific Islander, 4.45% from other races, and 2.51% from two or more races. 7.18% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.


There are 286 households out of which 45.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 70.6% are married couples living together, 10.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 15.7% are non-families. 10.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 1.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.07 and the average family size is 3.32.


In the city the population is spread out with 30.9% under the age of 18, 6.2% from 18 to 24, 39.2% from 25 to 44, 18.9% from 45 to 64, and 4.8% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 32 years. For every 100 females there are 101.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 95.5 males.


The median income for a household in the city is $48,500, and the median income for a family is $48,833. Males have a median income of $34,712 versus $25,156 for females. The per capita income for the city is $17,310. 9.7% of the population and 5.5% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 17.1% of those under the age of 18 and 0.0% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
