The designation begins at the intersection of Main Street and Maple Avenue in the center of the village of Victor. NY 444 follows Maple Avenue south out of Victor, passing the Ganondagan State Historic Site in Boughton Hill before losing the name Maple Avenue and becoming Victor-Bloomfield Road, as well as County Road 3. This name remains until the village of Holcomb, where NY 444 intersects the former route of NY-20C. Ganondagan State Historic Site is a native american historical site in Ontario County, New York in the USA. The historic site is in the Town of Victor, southwest of the Village of Victor. ...


After passing through the Four Corners of Holcomb, NY 444 continues south onto the former route of NY 20C, becoming nameless and remaining nameless right up to its southern terminus at the US 20/NY 5/NY 64 triplex in Bloomfield.


History

The section from Main St. in Holcomb (the Four Corners) to US 20 in Bloomfield was known as NY 20C until June 2, 1997, when NY 20C was replaced by NY 444.
