The designation begins at the intersection of Main Street and Maple Avenue in the center of the village of Victor. NY 444 follows Maple Avenue south out of Victor, passing the Ganondagan State Historic Site in Boughton Hill before losing the name Maple Avenue and becoming Victor-Bloomfield Road, as well as County Road 3.
