Newton is a small middle class suburb of Adelaide, South Australia situated in the Adelaide foothills northeast of the city centre. Newton is home to the public Thorndon Park Primary School and Charles Campbell Secondary School and the private St. Francis Of Assisi School. The main road of Newton is Gorge Road and has two shopping centres. Mercury Plaza and the Target complex are one and host a variety of shops. The Coles complex hosts a smaller number of shops but is now being upgraded (as of early 2006).
