A Fistful of Reviews - Next Friday (1999) (413 words)
Like most sequels, "Next Friday" fails to capture the essence of it's predecessor, which in this case is "Friday." "Next Friday" is to "Friday" what "The Spy Who Shagged Me" is to "Austin Powers": the bastard son to a delightfully hilarious father.
In "Next Friday," the joke gets a bit of a laugh the first time you see it and then, as it is used repeatedly, you grow very weary of it.
I knew "Next Friday" would be weak compared to the original, simply due to the fact that Chris Tucker was not included in the film.
