Nicholas John Shackleton (23rd June 1937 - 24th January 2006) was a geologist specialising in the Quaternary Period. He was a Professor in the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Cambridge, working in the Godwin Institute for Quaternary Research. His studies have included an investigation of historic climate change based on an analysis of glacial ice.
