Trivia

Quashie currently shares the record for the most relegated player in the history of the English Premier League - a record he shares with Hermann Hreiðarsson, Nathan Blake and Ashley Ward. He has been relegated a total of four times- Queens Park Rangers 1995-96; Nottingham Forest 1998-99; Southampton 2004-05 and West Bromwich Albion 2005-06. His current side West Ham, however, miraculously survived relegation in the 2006-07 season on the final day after signing him in the January transfer window and perhaps, finally, his curse has been lifted and he can be relieved of his nickname - Nigel 'The Relegator' Quashie. Notwithstanding that, Quashie was a member of the Portsmouth side that gained promotion to the Premier League in 2003, but survived in 2004-05 after he left for Southampton.
