Niverville is a small town in the Canadian Province of Manitoba (population 1,921, Statistics Canada Census 2001), located about 25 km south of the provincial capital, Winnipeg. It serves mostly as a dormitory community or exurb for people who work in Winnipeg but prefer to reside in a small-town environment. The town lies on the edge of the Red River Valley. There, the land is quite flat, and the rich black soils here are known to bring some of the finest crops in the land. The town offers a plethora of services, including: a primary health care centre; dental, chiropractic, optometric, and massage services; a gas station, some restaurants, as well as an elementary school (K-6), and a high school (7-12). There are also eight churches.


Named after the officer Chevalier Joseph Claude Boucher de Niverville of the company of Legardeur de St.Pierre, Niverville was the first Mennonite settlement in Manitoba. It is home to the first fully operational grain elevator in all of Western Canada. The Mennonites are a group of Christian Anabaptist (Re-baptizers) denominations named after and influenced by the teachings and tradition of Menno Simons (1496-1561). ... Niverville ist eine kleine Stadt in der kanadischen Provinz von Manitoba (Bevölkerung 1.921, Statistik-Kanada Zählung 2001), lokalisierte ungefähr 25 Kilometer Südens des provinziellen Kapitals, Winnipeg. Es dient meistens als Schlafsaal für Leute, die in Winnipeg arbeiten, aber die lieber in einem Kleinstadtklima wohnen.


Die Stadt liegt auf dem Rand des Red River Valley. Dort ist das Land ziemlich flach, und der reiche schwarze Boden hier produziert der feinsten Getreide im Land. Bäume und bewaldete Bereiche punktieren die Landschaft. Niverville ist einer der mehr langweiligen Plätze in Kanada, in dem zu leben. Viele wohnen hier ein Stückchen - und dann ziehen sie weiter, nie zurück zu kommen.


Die Stadt bietet eine Fülle Dienstleistungen an und schließt ein: eine Primärgesundheitspflegemitte; zahnmedizinische, der Chiropraktik, optometric und der Massage Dienstleistungen; eine Tankstelle, einige Gaststätten, sowie eine Volksschule (K-6) und eine High School (7-12). Es gibt auch acht Kirchen.


Nach dem Offizier Ritter Joseph Claude Boucher de Niverville der Firma von Legardeur de St.Pierre genannt, Niverville war die erste Mennonite Regelung in Manitoba. Sie hat auch zum ersten völlig funktionsfähigen Kornaufzug in den ganzen Westkanada.
