No Exit is an existentialist play by Jean-Paul Sartre, originally published in French in 1944 as Huis Clos.

This is no small philosophical matter isolated in a couple of films, for the idea of exiting from a dystopia of light has echoed from Sartre and Orwell across the decades, spanning numerous dystopian science-fiction films.
