Nobleton is a suburban community in the northwestern part of the Toronto Area that is located south of the Oak Ridges Moraine. It is in the southwestern part of King. The population is around 4,000 (1990s). It is located 50 km NW of Toronto, 7 km W of Highway 400 via King Road, 10 km W of King City, about 62 km S of Barrie, S of Schomberg, about 6 km N of Kleinburg and about 6 km E of Bolton. It is accessed by a road linking Woodbridge and Schomberg that was Highway 27, an old highway that used to link primarily from Toronto and Barrie and King Road linking Bolton and King City along with Oak Ridges and Old School Road in southern Caledon. The Oak Ridges Moraine is to the north and is covered with pine forests with a few other types of trees and lakes to the north and the northeast including Nobleton Lakes located nearly 2 to 3 km north of Nobleton which include two lakes and a golf club. Forests are almost sporadically situated in the valleys throughout Nobleton including to the east and into the southeastern portion. Nobleton is served by both public and Catholic separate schools for elementary and junior-age children. In the public system, Nobleton Junior Public School and Nobleton Senior Public School are within the community. Pre-high school Catholic children attend St. Mary Catholic School. A small ice rink is used mainly by a peewee hockey team for the Ontario Stars Hockey League.
