Queen Noor (Arabic: الماكة نور) (born August 23, 1951) is the fourth wife and widow of the late King Hussein of Jordan.
Queen Noor was born Elizabeth Najeeb Halaby (but went by the name Lisa Halaby), a daughter of Najeeb Halaby, a former CEO of Pan-American World Airways, one time head of the Federal Aviation Administration, and former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, and his first wife, Doris Carlquist.
Queen Noor's paternal grandfather, Najeeb Elias Halaby, a Syrian immigrant of Lebanese descent, was an oil broker, according to 1920 census records.
Two-year-old Noor Fatima and her parents were given a warm send-off at the bus station in the Indian capital, Delhi, on their way back to Lahore.
A media frenzy surrounded Noor as she boarded the bus, with dozens of reporters and camera crews present in Delhi, while many others were there to see her arrive on the Pakistani side of the border, says the BBC's Zaffar Abbas.
Noor received treatment for two holes in her heart at a specialist hospital in the southern Indian city of Bangalore.
