Encyclopedia > North Vancouver

Generally North Vancouver is the suburb of Vancouver on the North Side of the Burrard Inlet except the area that is in West Vancouver. North Vancouver is built on the side of the North Shore Mountains. Being close to the montains it offers some world renowned bike trails and is commonly featured in mountain bike films.


There are two municipalities in Greater Vancouver that use the name North Vancouver. These are:

  • North Vancouver, British Columbia (City) (Pop. 47,074 in 2004)
  • North Vancouver, British Columbia (district municipality) (Pop. 86,334 in 2004)


North Vancouver is also an Electoral District North Vancouver (electoral district)
