North East Africa is the northeastern portion of the African continent. Its border are not clearly defined, but it normally includes Egypt, Sudan, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia and sometimes Kenya, Libya, or Chad. The region is dominated by the Nile River system, and has long had significant contact with the Middle East and Europe over the Red Sea and the Mediterranean respectively.
