Northville Charter Township is a charter township in Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan and a suburb in Metro Detroit. The population was 21,036 at the 2000 census. A portion of the city of Northville is surrounded by the northern end of the township. Portions of Northville Township were incorporated into the Village of Northville, which later incorporated as the City of Northville. Portions of the Township have also been annexed into the City. The most recent annexation was property owned by the City of Northville as part of the Rural Hill Cemetery. The township is served by its own police and fire departments.
