The Norwest Corporation was a large bankcorporation in Minneapolis with offices in many states until, after buying Wells Fargo of San Francisco in 1998, it changed its own name to Wells Fargo and moved its headquarters to San Francisco in 2000. That sequence of events may leave an erroneous impression that Wells Fargo acquired Norwest. Norwest was previously known as Northwest Bank Corporation.
Henry Norwest (May 1, 1884 in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta – August 18, 1918 at Fouquescourt, Somme, France) was one of the most decorated soldiers in the Canadian army in World War I.
Nicknamed Ducky, Henry Norwest was Métis of Cree/French origins from the Hobbema reserve in Alberta.
While Norwest was an outstanding marksman, the thing that set him apart from others was his superb stealth tactics and his expertise in the use of camouflage.
Norwest contends that Hoover has failed to establish that she is disabled within the meaning of the MHRA (and therefore not a member of a protected class), arguing that Hoover’s symptoms from the fibromyalgia between May 1995 and February 1996 were not severe enough to make her disabled under the law.
Norwest claims that, because the lack of loan processing support was a frequent complaint among all loan originators, it could not distinguish Hoover’s requests from those of other loan originators without her tying those requests for support to her fibromyalgia.
Norwest argues that it made clear in its memoranda to and arguments before the district court that the letters were not competent evidence.
