As of 2005, censorship regime is largely the purview of the Office of Film and Literature Classification (the "OFLC"), a statutory body which operates independently of the Federal Government.
Despite not being the responsibility of the OFLC, the Code of Practice share the same OFLC classifications and basic guidelines, though it is not uncommon for ratings to differ between the two.
In a frenzy, the OFLC tried to have the game pulled from shelves, but it was discovered that the distributor had notified them of this fact and the rating could not be surrendered.
