Oakton Community College is a two-year community college with campuses in Skokie, Illinois and Des Plaines, Illinois. The Skokie campus opened in 1969 while the Des Plaines campus opened in 1980. Classes are held at both campus. The college is notorious among the sorrounding North Shore high schools as a haven for pot heads, failed jocks, and generally students who did very little in high school.
