Can refer to a region of Euclidean 3-space with a specific sign for x, y and z coordinates. It is the three dimensional case of the Orthant. The octant where all three coordinates are positive (+, +, +) is known as the "first" octant. However, there is no accepted naming convention for the other seven octants.


It can also refer to an angle-measuring device. See also sextant
