OddManOut (1947) is a British film noir starring James Mason as Johnny MacQueen, an IRA chieftain trying to escape from the police after an ill-advised bank robbery meant to replenish Republican coffers.
Carol Reed, the celebrated director, was able to call upon the striking work of the cinematographer Robert Krasker, and also had the advantage of a memorable score by the classical composer William Alwyn.
OddManOut was written by F.L. Green and R.C. Sherriff from Green's novel.
