 Oklahoma State University's men's athletics teams are called the Cowboys, a name commonly referring to men that tend sheep and cattle on ranches in the western United States. Women's teams and athletes are known as Cowgirls. "Aggies" is also a popular nickname for Oklahoma State's sports teams. Oklahoma State was once known as the "Aggies," when the school was named Oklahoma A&M. Oklahoma State is a member of the NCAA's Division I-A in most of its sports, and in the Big 12's South division. The current athletic director is Mike Holder. OSU has 46 total national titles, the fourth-most team national championships in the country, 34 of which come from wrestling.
