Ola Ullsten (born June 23, 1931) is a Swedish liberal politician, and the former party leader of the Swedish Liberal People's Party. He served as the Prime Minister of Sweden from 1978 to 1979, heading a minority government consisting of Liberal party ministers after the centre-right coalition government between the Centre Party, the Liberal People's Party and the Moderate Party broke down because of disagreements over energy policy. After the 1979 parliamentary elections he served as Minister for Foreign Affairs in the three-party centre-right government under Thorbjörn Fälldin. He has later served as the Swedish Ambassador to Canada, Italy and the Holy See. Stig Kjell Olof (Ola) Ullsten, född 23 juni 1931 i Umeå, politiker (folkpartist), riksdagsledamot 1965-84 (andra kammaren till 1970), konsultativt statsråd (biståndsminister) 1976-78, partiledare för Folkpartiet 1978-1983, vice statsminister 1980-82, statsminister 1978-79, utrikesminister 1979-82.
Ola Ullsten föddes i Umeå, Västerbottens län, som son till skogsinspektören Carl Ullsten och småskollärarinnan Stina Råström.
Ullstens statsministertid blev till en början framgångsrik, men närmare valet 1979 blev situationen i riksdagen svårhanterlig genom att oppositionspartierna bildade "oheliga" allianser mot regeringen.

In der ersten bürgerlichen Regierung Schwedens seit 40 Jahren wurde Ullsten 1976 Minister für Entwicklungshilfe.
Außenminister in der Regierung Ullsten war der spätere Chef der UN-Rüstungskontrollkommission Hans Blix.
Nach den Wahlen 1979, die für Ullstens Partei keinen Erfolg bedeuteten, trat Ullsten als Premierminister zurück und wurde stattdessen Außenminister in der neuen, bürgerlichen Koalition, noch einmal unter der Leitung von Thorbjörn Fälldin.
