The Old Farmer’s Almanac is a reference book that contains weather forecasts, tide tables, planting charts, and recipes. According to the cover of the latest edition, the almanac has been published continuously since 1792, making it the oldest continuously published periodical in North America. It was founed by Robert B. Thomas as The Farmer’s Almanac and sold for six pence. It became the Old Farmer's Almanac in 1832 after it survived longer than similarly named competitors.
