Oleg Leonidovich Lundstrem (also spelled Lundstoem, Lundström, Russian: Олег Леонидович Лундстрём; April 2, 1916, ChitaOctober 13, 2005, near Moscow) was a Soviet and Russian jazz composer and conductor of the Oleg Lundstrem Orchestra, one of the very few officially recognized jazz bands in the Soviet Union. Lundstrem was born in musicians' family in Chita in 1916. He moved together with his parents to Harbin, China five years later. Oleg graduates from the college of commerce and enters the Polytechnic Institute.
Oleg begins to perform as a violinist at the Theater of Opera and Ballet, and, in the autumn of 1948, he enters the conservatory along with a large number of the musicians who had arrived with him from China.
Oleg stays at the conservatory to teach a course in theoretical disciplines and lead the student symphony orchestra.
