 Olivos is a locality of Vicente López in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The "Olivos Pact" (Pacto de Olivos) was a political agreement signed on November 1993 between then-president Carlos Menem and former president Raúl Alfonsín (head of the main opposition party), in order to secure support for constitutional reform allowing for the re-election of the President. Olivos is a city next to the City of Buenos Aires. It is Argentina's city or district with the lowest mortality, with 0.57 deaths per year. Olivos is the home to many important people, including the Nation's president, in the "Quinta Presidencia de Olivosl", occupying a space of 80,000 square metres. Many international companies are based in Olivos, including Nestle, Disney Channel, and many others. Olivos has a privileged location, next to the Rio de la Plata, the districts of San Isidro and San Martin, and the City of Buenos Aires. It's population is of aprox. 240,000 people, in 39 square km. It also counts with a large number of Catholic Churches, private and public schools, train and bus stations, the modern Panamerican Highway, and two important avenues, and in the future, Vicente Lopez International Airport. Olivos is famous for its residences, some counting with more than one century, and some modern houses with geometrical designs, owned by important middle and high-class people. In the Rio de la Plata's coast, you can find a large park, excellent, for practising sports or having an out-door pic-nic. In those parks its common to find ducks cathching fish, water turtles and every kind of trees and plants.
