Ntare I - mid sixteenth century
Rushango - late sixteenth century
Ntare II - late sixteenth century/early seventeenth century
It includes, besides, the nucleus of Nkole, the pre-colonial states of Igara, Buhweju Bunyaruguru, Buzimba and some parts of the former kingdom of Mpororo.
The latter five were amalgamated into Nkole kingdom by the British, a process sealed off by the Ankole agreement of 1901.
The head of the kingdom was known as Omugabe, king and his office embodied many offices viz: the political head, the judge and the military commander.
