Wang Khan was the title given to the Kerait ruler Toghrul by the Jurchen Jin Dynasty of China. Wang Khan was the blood brother of Genghis Khan's father Yesükhei, and he raised Genghis as his foster son after Yesükhei died. He is also believed to be the father of Genghis' wife, Börte. He was one of Genghis' early allies, but when Temujin attacked Jamuqa for the title of Gur Khan (universal ruler), Toghrul, fearing Temujin's growing power, plotted with Jamuqa to have him assassinated. He was killed in battle against the would-be Great Khan in 1203.
